Our first destination wasn't really a bucket list item, but more a tradition that needed to be honored. Every winter Steven and I bundle up and drive to Summerhaven on Mt. Lemmon after a snow fall. We play in the snow, enjoy ourselves, and freeze our tails off. Once we tried to make a fire and cook hot dogs, but that was a bust. Every time we're up there though, without fail, we have to stop at the Cookie Cabin.
However, this last winter we were busy, well, preparing for a baby. You know, nine months pregnant and whatnot. That doesn't exactly make for great adventuring, so the tradition got passed up.
Steven got off of work really early on March 26th, and I was going stir crazy, so we packed up the car and off we went!
Although there was no snow, it was probably for the better. We were able to sit on the balcony of the cookie cabin, and enjoy our cookies while taking in the view! There were blue jays and robins galore and the cabins all looked so charming.
Steven got the Peanut Butter cookie and I got the Rachel cookie, which includes oats, coconut, and butterscotch.
After we had sufficiently given ourselves tummy aches and stored away the rest of our cookies, Steven and I headed up to look over Ski Valley, which is where Steven learned to snow board. We also walked along the main street in Summerhaven, just to get a good look around.
It wasn't necessarily a long date, but it was a great way to include Elijah in our little tradition. Until next time our beloved Cookie Cabin, until next time!

Awesome tradition!
