But on this particular Friday, our usual date night ideas just didn't sound as appealing. I wanted to surprise Steven with something fun, just as he had done for me. Our apartment complex has really fun management, and puts out a monthly newsletter to all of the tenants. On the back of the newsletter, which we keep on our fridge, is a calendar with local events and holidays (this is how Steven knew about the Rose Tree Parade). Under the calendar is a list of recurring activities available in the area, including UofA sporting events.
While getting the milk out of the fridge all of the sudden it dawned on me that we had been talking about going to a UofA baseball game for years, but had never actually done so. A quick check of the game dates, and yep! That was our date!
That girl has the raddest cotton candy hair, right?
We still got the CatCard discount (because we still carry our CatCards loyally) and we had a blast cheering on our Wildcats even though the California Bears won the game (doh!). Oh, and everyone that is anyone absolutely drooled over our kid. And we let them.
After the game we had dinner at Fresco Pizzeria and called it a night. (Phenomenal place. We highly recommend it-yummy food, huge portions, great prices.)
