Korea // 03 // Boramae Park

Steven and I finally found an OB/GYN office that does walk in ultrasounds yesterday, after two months of searching. It was in Seoul, so we made a day trip of it (because we make a day trip of every trip into Seoul). After confirming with a lovely English speaking doctor, Dr. Kim, that our baby is healthy, happy, and measuring right on schedule (wahoo!!!!) we headed to Boramae Park.

The thing you should know about Seoul is that everything that is not a building is a park-seriously. And I think that is one of the neatest things about the city. No matter how many times Steven and I go into Seoul we will never be able to see all of the parks. Some parks really are just playgrounds and grass, but most have a history and a few fun quirks to them. Boramae for example is an old Air Force base for the ROKAF (Republic of Korea Air Force). Along with grass fields, badminton courts, croquet, playgrounds, etc., the entire place acts as a museum of what was once there, with antique planes on display and the old radio tower still standing. The city has also installed a pond at the south end of the park where a fountain is located which plays five times a day choreographed to music*.

Since we were on cloud nine already having been able to see our baby, we were just thrilled to be spending time together in such a lovely place. (Too much sap?)

Anyways, pictures!

Apparently there's a sweet farmers market that goes down at Boramae every Saturday. We didn't purchase anything, but those succulents really almost came home with me. I mean three for 5 dollars? I shoulda.

*For anybody out there that might be searching for the Boramae Fountain Schedule this is the most recent information I could find at the park, after countless searches online that resulted in nothing. We caught the 7 pm show and wish it would've been the 8 pm for the extra half hour, it was super neat!
