You have ten perfect little fingers and toes, and ten perfect little days on this earth. I can't believe you're already this old! We cuddle every day. I've only cried once or twice about your thinning cheeks (please stay chunky until you're five years old?). You smile every once in a while, just enough to make my heart soar. You love to eat, but sometimes eat way too much and let me know by giving it back in bulk. On my shirt. You love to be swaddled. Daddy has his swaddle down to an art form. You don't cry often, and when you do it's only enough to say "hey mom, I think I like it this other way, please?" In short, you're my dream boat.
Today you were circumcised. I cried. You only cried when you saw me cry. Sorry snuggle bug, I'll try to be stronger for you. I told your dad he's the only one who isn't recovering from stitches or surgery, so he's in charge of doing all the moving for our family. You and I? We're taking it easy for the next few days. We deserve it. How about some ice cream? If I eat it, then you'll taste it later-it works like that right? Speaking of eating, you're doing a great job because you're already bigger than your birth weight!
I still can't believe how chunky you are. And that all of that chunk is mine. You are my beautiful boy, and given the option I would never put you down.
Love,
Mommy
